Very straightforward job.
Small tub for screws, take off indicator, sidelights and plastic surround. Undo the three screws holding the ring in place. Do NOT touch the two adjustment screws! Unplug old unit replace with new shiny Nolden with top to top and then reassemble. Enjoy Brendan |

Depending how old/what condition the mounting rings are in, you might want to buy some stainless steel versions.

Well I did all the above when changing to Crystals and didn't adjust the alignment screws and they were still out come MOT time.
Fit em' and take them to an MOT station and get the alignment and beam adjusted, cost you peanuts and they've got the kit to do it. |

or the old fashioned simple way:
Position vehicle, unladen, on level ground with tyres correctly inflated, approximately 4 metres from a wall or screen, marked as illustrated below. The beam centres 'A' are measured horizontally on the vehicle and dimension 'B' vertically from the ground. Switch on main beam and adjust setting, as necessary, with trimmer screws. ^ Are they better at night?
I don't actually find the normal headlamps that bad, given I've come from xenon lights, Maybe as in the lady I'm higher up and generally going slower |

I haven't driven in the dark yet !that pleasure is for the morning .
They are certainaly much brighter and whiter than the old ones and the beam is much more direct . Time will tell . J Defender 90 Tonga green . My 2007 County .2.4Tdci puma . Too many other Discos to mention, including a V8 petrol Disco3 and diesel Disco 3 !! ( All gone) |

Hi,
Figuring you've had the truck out in the dark since fitting the new lights I'd be interested in your feedback on the dip / low beam specifically. Do you feel the throw of usable light is further/brighter than before or pretty much the same spread but brighter/crisper. full beam not so much of an issue imho as that's easy sorted with additional lights but for dip there's not much you can do. Thanks Gary 3 Landrovers |

The light beam is definitely brighter than before .
The light is a crisp white light with definite edges , you can see the beam pattern very clearly especially on unlit roads . I think the beam is further than before, certainaly well worth the money . Thanks,
I've done the usual things with mine, the connections are clean and secure and running the crystal lenses with decent bulbs and I don't think they're great, well not on dip, mains are not bad really to be honest. The Landy is pretty much as bad as the old Scooby on dip beam but as Stacey007 mentioned the speeds a bit slower :p Just need to overcome my tight northern git attitude and buy what I want instead of looking at the stuff on websites 3 Landrovers |

There are lots of different LED headlights in the market place, some legal others definitely illegal
You will not get consensus about what is the best LED headlights to buy. Some pointers to look out for. To be road legal they need to be E marked. All the reputable brands will be E marked. Now if the LED headlights are cheap there is normally a reason behind the cheapness! Now if the lights are 'E' marked is it a genuine E mark? If the symbol is crudely marked on the lens it is a fake. If the manufacturers name is not on the lens, a fake, if there is not a lot of symbols on the lens then it is a fake!. For UK spec LED headlights there should be an arrow on the lens pointing to UK nearside.. There is a difference between LHD and RHD headlights. UK we need RHD lights so care needed when buying from abroad. IP rating is Ingress Protection and the minimum IP rating is IP67, IP 68 is better but the best rating is IP69K Light output. Learn the difference between raw lumens, effective lumens and measured lumen output. Google for reputation of your preferred brand looking for water ingress and corrosion issues. Price/budget and headlight appearance is personal judgement/choice. Hopefully if you do your research you will be able to make a more informed decision. Brendan |

Once you have found proper legal ones, don;t be put off by a cheaper price though, because any half decent LED light will be a billion times better than the glow worms fitted on the front at present.
It doesn't have to be expensive to be an improvement. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |
