Just wonder if the above locking nuts can be used on the spare wheel. The spare wheel's stud is longer. I always feel my spare wheel insecure as there are crazy people who steal whatever metal they can find in some districts of my city. Thx! |

I had of of these locking nuts fitted to the spare on my Heritage and it fitted perfectly - not just for thread but for length as well - the end of the locking nut is flush with the end of the stud so the plastic cap fits snugly.

Yes, they fit the road wheels as well and sensibly Land Rover sell them as a pack of five.

The pictures on this site are identical to mine so I think they are one and the same. The dealer charged £UK74 and I guess you will get them cheaper elsewhere, but at least they fitted them.

Thanks, yes they are £61.20 inc Postage and my local garage will fit, going on past experience of main dealers they will probably fit them the wrong way round! Every time I give another dealer a chance they cock up the job and i'm running out of dealers to try!

The only problem with taking the car from the main dealer to another garage in the NE for the fitting of locking wheel nuts is the danger that the wheels would be stolen in the interim. If the F1 teams were to employ the lads from North Shields, they'd save 1 second on each pit stop.

I found that at eBay, there are a set of four or a set of five, both are for Defender steel wheels. And there are two types of keys also. So strange. Both are genuine parts??
I ordered a '89 set. Hopefully not corroded yet |
