United States 2010 Defender 130 Puma 2.4 HCPU Alpine White
I've got a new leak.
I've got a new leak under my truck.
Can anyone help me identify this. It's a 2.4 puma left hand drive.
Looks to be dripping from under the battery box area. Here is a pic of where I think it's coming from.... Looks to be reddish in color.

Looks like it's right under my steering wheel on a left hand drive truck.

Have you checked the steering fluid and coolant level? Confused I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

Looks like pink coolant....

Feel / smell the fluid and decide if its coolant or power steering fluid. Then you can trace the leak a bit easier. 1995 300tdi Defender 90 P/UP

Check the coolant valve (cabin heater 3 way valve) just behind the brake booster

Ok I haven't had a chance to look into it but I finally checked my coolant and it's totally empty.
Plus the leak stopped........
I need to add coolant so I can trace the leak now.
Can anyone fill me in on a coolant I can use that I can get in the USA? Everything you guys suggest I can't seem to get.
They have dexcool but I'm reading a lot of scary things about that.
Also local auto parts sells a yellow coolant that they say is compatible with all colors?
I also found pentofrost but comes in pink and red color?

Any help?

Hi,

Normally the coolants have different colour so you don't mix them.

http://spautoparts.com/documents/CoolantFAQs.pdf

The Puma engine is a Ford engine so if you found Ford coolant that has the same spec as you
found for the Land Rover Defender, this is OK. The spec define the liquid regardless of manufacturer,
or at least it should, that's why there is a spec. Brgds,

Juha
