Yes, dogs are fine with raw chicken. Think about the kind of bacteria on stuff they find/dig up when off the lead. If they can cope with eating each others pooh then fresh chicken wings are fine. Just store them correctly, I don't feed them to my dogs if they smell off, but they'd probably still be fine with it? I buy in bulk from wholesale butchers and freeze them in a chest freezer in my garage.

Its cooked chicken bones that can be dangerous, or any cooked bones for that matter. They can splinter and cause problems.

Again lots of good advice here. Lots of info on the net about feeding raw meat and bones, try googling BARF diet

Well mine is still on mince, broccoli, carrots and goats milk and is doing well on 8kg for second injection. Micro chip next, any issues with them? again never had my first BC done but seems a good idea. insurance seems crazy at £36 per month, odds seem to be not to have it, especially with a young dog, that's a lot more than insuring my Cars Shocked

My Springer pup busted a leg just a few weeks after collecting her at 8 weeks old earlier this year, insurance covered the not insignificant vet fees. Things can go wrong or mishaps occur at any age, you pays your money [or not] and takes your choice. Steve.

That's the thing, I have no idea! She did it in an empty stable with a straw covered floor so just mucking about like puppies do. The leg set correctly and healed well and is fine now. Steve.

No issues with microchips, it's quick, easy and means if your dog ever gets lost/stolen you have a better chance of getting him back. IMV they should be compulsory both to have them fitted and to scan for them. The breeder we bought Skye from fits the chips herself before the puppies are collected.

Insurance is always expensive unless you have to claim. Vets bills soon mount up and a single claim will easily eat up a few hundred quid. Skye slipped while running across a wood floor when she was a puppy and ended up having to have X-Rays of both hips and legs to make sure she hadn't done anything other than muscle damage. She then cut a back leg on something in the woods and needed stitches. in the first year we claimed over £1000 in treatment and we spend £30.50 a month on the premium.

We're hoping not to make such a "profit" on the second year's premiums ! http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

Find a good old fashioned Butcher

We buy Chicken Wings & Marrow bones all the time

Pooches love them and keeps them engaged for hours I love watching them discover new ways to get that last bit of juice out

I bet they wish they had thumbs Rolling with laughter
