What were the lights themselves doing:? Was there any relay 'chatter?' It could be the relay itself or you have a short circuit behind the dash or.......
We could theorise all day. A few more details if possible may help to nail it down perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Had this before on a different vehicle and it turned out to be the stalk switch itself.
Solution was a new stalk. |

The lights themselves, from the reflection from the car in front weren't flashing, just on as dipped beam which they were switched on as. I didn't notice any clicking from a relay. It's constant flashing when on first and second position on light switch. I have Googled but haven't come back with anything.

Last weekend my lights packed up, except main beam. I reomoved dimdip relay and replaced with cable from spade holes 2 to 8 and its been working fine. I will check that it is all in place.

Below the Main Beam light should just be your sidelights/dipped beam on light.
Have a look behind it it may be the bulb on its way out though I have never known one to blow. Otherwise as Supacat says, check your stalk switch. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter ![]() |

i'd have a look at the switch if the relay apprears ok they are prone to "burn out" especially if your running extra lighting dlr's ect

Its meant to come on when you select side lights and remain on when you select dim beamed lights. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
