"Dr Wolfgang Epple, Director of Research and Technology, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “Today’s HVAC systems can draw 8-10kW from an electric vehicle battery, enough to reduce the range by up to 40 per cent, while air conditioning can reduce the range of an internal combustion engine by up to 20 per cent."

This is almost like heat recovery and ventilation systems in modern Passive House technology. Houses are built air tight to reduce heat loss and the air is heated / filtered / recirculated etc. its smart stuff taking building tech into the car market.

Then just put such a filter on the exhaust instead and we're good with global warming (CO2) and air quality (particulates) with the current combustion Diesel engine! Whistle
