One of our lads was down the other day for a course and saw the new Discovery
No pics either though (honest) My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |

Hi, I was on the Celebration Tour on the morning of October 27th. We were really impressed and struck by how labour intensive the whole build process was. One vehicle in particular caught my attention in the final despatch area - a Heritage 90 Soft Top. It really stood out amongst the many other Heritage vehicles which were going down the line that day, all of which seemed to be LHD. Our Tour Guide Phil, who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic seemed to have some insight on this particular vehicle when I expressed surprise that this version was being produced. He said it was to be the only Soft Top example to be built and was for export to a European Country and been ordered for a company director who was somehow connected to JLR in that country. Of course sadly we weren't able to take any photos otherwise I would have taken some close-up shots. Didn't manage to get close enough either to see which options had been fitted but it did look by far the most authentic tribute to the original 80". My guess ......that one will be worth a fortune in the future [/quote] |

Nice surprise in the mail today.
Just as I was thinking about calling LR Switzerland to ask if they were planning to do a book here too, like they did in UK, this came in: Click image to enlarge |

I have just received my copy in Oz. It says only 400 Heritages to be produced. Was that the reality? I thought it was more like 2,500.

It seems like 2654 Heritage worldwide
400, is probably the number allocated to Australia. |

I think only 50 were allocated to Oz. I'm wondering if 400 was the original plan. The front cover of the UK version in this thread was entitled "One of 400" whereas mine (and others) is just called "Limited edition".

Hi Tony,
I got my book yesterday as well - it's under the Christmas tree for a surprise tomorrow. It also mentions 400 but I believe that is the UK allocation. I think you are closer at 100 & I believe that includes the Adventures as well. The brochure definitely states 2654 worldwide. Also received my Melvill & Moon package yesterday. Will get those installed over the next couple of mornings. |
