It will probably be starting to rust from new already! ....but I'm sure you will be ok for a few weeks. Just make sure the chassis is good and clean (no mud or winter road salt) before you get Zag to do the Dinitroling.

Not quick enough to cause any harm - even if it is a Defender
Only problem is the amount of it will pick up driving in our lovely weather or on a trip off road. You'll just have to spend a bit of time cleaning it up It's not hard to do it yourself with the Rejel kits, especially if you've got a brand new clean chassis to start with. Zag's corrosion thread is a great source of help and inspiration 2012 110 XS SW Orkney Grey 2003 D2 Td5 Black [SOLD] |

I saw an episode of Grand Designs Australia where a guy was building a house from raw sheet steel and wasn't going to protect it or paint it at all, so that it just rusted away slowly (for the look).
The guy was already in his 70s and so he knew it would outlast him. The steel was 3mm sheet, apparently steels rusts at 1mm every ten years, so his building would last 30 years before jokes came through. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Personally I would (and did!) get any new truck Zag'd before driving it... Especially at this time of year as it will be picking up all sorts and lodging it in cracks and crevices that will be difficult to re-clean as good as new... Rog... The GREEN One... I do fully agree with Venomator
The f***ing Salt penetrates in every gap and that is the beginning of the end A good wax-Treatment will save your cherished Baby and give you peace of mind for Long time So, don`t drive it in winter time without protection Cheers Philip btw: my Landy stays in when salt is on the roads |

"Waxoiling" a brand new, never been on the road chassis,is brilliant as it's totally clean making the job a lot easier easier, but imho really no need to panic if it's not done for a few years.
As i've said before, keeping it clean is the best way to keep the rust away....so buy yourself a jetwash . Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

That is correct, but it`s not just the Chassis that Needs wax.
I sprayed some clear wax in any seem of the Body, for ex. wing to top, the doors Need wax, the cappings and so on. i have seen around some Defenders that had all around this Aluminium corrosion (white leafs) coming out of the Body where they are put together. This ist a very big damage... Cheers Philip |

I'm different!
30 years of owning Landrovers and never Waxoiled, Dinitrolled or Shutzed!! I regularly clean the chassis with a Jetwash and hand apply wax twice a year.. Any minor seam rust or stone chips I clean and respray with Satin Black Hammerite My Chassis always looks great, looks original and Ive never had one welded or rot through. (I dont off road excesively but drive in all weather conditions) I do use ACF 50 in cappings and joints Just my thoughts Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow....
