That looks tidy for a 2003. Has it had work done do you know? Mileage? Looks like a great choice anyway! Congratulations! 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

I have seen one. Is it not a winch bumper minus winch that has been adapted to fit the A-bar? If there's an orifice behind the numberplate I think you'll find I may be correct.

Looks remarkably similar to a Shadow one to me?

So initial thoughts after collecting my 1st defender in about 9 years ( last one was a 300tdi 90 )

The TD5 engine pulls like a steam train, rev counter mod defintely needed !

Can't believe how low geared these things are ! Transfer box mod needed !

Climbing in and out requires a 'technique' Confused , side steps needed !

Standard steering wheel is uglier than sin itself, Momo desired.

Rear window heater works but seems to have the power of a glow worms derriere, not sure how to fix that one.

Awesome road presence , many smiles per mile Very Happy

Need to beef up security, I assume standard alarm/imobiliser is not up to the job given all the upgrades done on here ? Alarm key fob works ok as long as your nose is pressed against the side window when you use it, new battery required but best take care how I do it ( looks easy enough in the manual ) Whistle

Standard audio system is ok at best, best throw a few quid at that as well.

KF9, there is indeed a rectangular hole hiding behind the front plate on the bumper Thumbs Up

Best get the cheque book out Very Happy

Tidy looking (very) for the year.

The only mod you can do for the back window, is throw away your interior mirror.... It saves the frustration Laughing

Happy new truck Thumbs Up

For the alarm remote range issue you can try the following three options:-

1. On a 90, assuming it's the same on 110 the alarm remote receiver is up behind the drivers side speaker. Just drop it out and you will see 2 plastic boxes screwed to panel just higher than the speaker hole. The aerial for the receiver is an orange wire that just hangs out, it's about 20cm long with about 5mm of insulation stripped off. You can add extra wire to this to extend the alarm remote range. I added about 2ft (60cm) of wire and ran it up the windscreen pillar cover on the drivers side.

2. Put the key fob against your head while activating it. Even better range with your mouth open. You look a right tit, but it works... Rolling with laughter

3. Do 1 + 2 for fantastic range...Wink

cheers
