Did you take the sticker off the battery? Someone posted on here this week that they changed the battery and missed a sticker that had been put on the bottom to stop young kids eating them

When my repairer changed the battery in my keyfob he just took it out of range of the vehicle and did a quick swap.
No masonic ritual involved. Worked fine. ![]() |

TD5s appear to be less irksome with no necessary 'resync' often required? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks for that K9f.
Problem is I've already just replaced the battery without unlocking the vehicle first. I've now opened the vehicle with the key but the alarm keeps going off. I've put the keys in to fire it up & nothing. Any ideas ? |

All I've done is quickly change the battery in the house which is away from the vehicle.
Gone out to open it with the fob & it won't open. |

If you've a spare functional fob, remove the battery from the one you have just replaced, using the spare fob lock and then unlock the vehicle with this and start again? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Now in the vehicle, put key in & turn it to fire it up & red engine light flashing up.
Baffling me. All this for a simple, so I thought battery fob change. ![]() |

Spare fob if you have one? Alternatively disconnect the main battery with the key fob battery removed, leave it for a few minutes reconnect main battery, insert battery into fob and try 'resync' procedure again. Either way you have nothing to lose as it's immobilised as stated. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Check battery is in the right way and fully in place, if so replace with old battery and see if the fob works again. Could be a duff battery. Ray

I'll give it a try. Thought changing the battery would be simple, obviously not. ![]() |

All back up & running again now.
Disconnected battery for 10 mins, reconnected it, went through the installation guide & hey ho all done. I'll remember to read the installation guide next time BEFORE I change it. ![]() Thanks for all your replays guys, greatly appreciated. ![]() |
