It's really poor.
They've changed their official description on their press release to 100 but I've found an area on LR UK website which mentions the exclusivity of only having 80 units. I plan to ask for compensation. Would be helpful if other Autobiography owners join suit! 2016 Defender Adventure 110 2015 Defender Autobiography 90 2016 Defender V8 Classic Works 90 2020 Defender 110 P400 X |

Looking at it a slightly more positive way, they could have made 100 and still told u it was only 80, and you'd have probably be none the wiser!!

Would you not have bought one if you'd have known there were going to be 100 in the UK?
I can't honestly see what tangible difference it makes? Although I agree that JLR should stick to a number if that's what they advertise. |

Possibly not. All of their advertising is around how it's only 80 and how it's super exclusive for being 80 blah blah.
It is against all advertising laws to make false representations and there is specific guidance around limited editions and LR are in breach of these laws. To me, this devalues the product and LR need to be compensating AB owners as such. 25% more vehicles is a lot. 2016 Defender Adventure 110 2015 Defender Autobiography 90 2016 Defender V8 Classic Works 90 2020 Defender 110 P400 X |

Look at it from the bright side. That makes 20 UK drivers extra who could buy such a Well (with capital W that is) priced truck.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

When I complained to my dealer I got this...
The Defender Autobiography edition is a limited edition model, but Land Rover reserved the right to make changes to a model Supply. There is no illegality in what LR have done with the Defender Autobiography , as this would have been considered previously if this was the case. Various... |

That is not true. It is illegal to mislead, particularly as they make explicit links to the collectability of Autobiography in their product brief to dealers. They also continue to have their press release on their website stating 80. They have updated the brochure to say 100.
PM me if you would like to discuss more - I plan to take further and it would help if a few of us do. 2016 Defender Adventure 110 2015 Defender Autobiography 90 2016 Defender V8 Classic Works 90 2020 Defender 110 P400 X |

I think you'll probably find that to use the term "exclusive" and "limited edition" there is probably some silly rule that says to be deemed limited edition there can be no more than 100 produced..
So from their point of view they are no breaking laws on exclusivity etc, and who cares if they annoy you, you wont be buying another new defender anyway.... This is just a theory.. My 1986 90 is currently on a full rebuild, with new chassis, Paint etc.. Very much a hybrid, TD5 Chassis, tub & bulkhead with a 200TDI and LT77 GB Painted in Stornoway Grey 2 years off the road, but getting close to completion now |

Not the first manufacturer to do a few more of a "limited" production run, and most certainly won't be the last
Wait till they start discounting the list price to move the remaining unsold ones California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |

Yes but we live in a world where we have very strict laws on what people can and can't advertise. And they are continuing to advertise only 80 on some channels! 2016 Defender Adventure 110
