Cool photos indeed ...
.. but a typically 'Asian blinkered and biased' Australian review! I live there now... they are all nuts about the Pacific Rim 4X4 offerings... full of hard plastics, vinyl, dodgy switch gear and a dime a dozen on the roads! So they just 'don't get' the Defender and the other Defender 'owner heritage experience' stuff! I will take a LR product anyway of the week! JLR need to really wish their marketing harder in OZ and NZ because if they do that right, I am convinced they would make big inroads into the market. Just a pity the Defender is not going to be a part of that... yet! Pete YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

When travelling around Oz in our 90 last year we met loads of Aussies who came up to us to say how much they missed their Defenders and wish they'd never sold them to trade in for a Toyota/Nissan, etc. back in the 90s....
Trouble was Land Rover stopped marketing the Defender down under and stopped supporting a decent dealer network, and that basically led to people moving over to the Jap ones which were properly marketed and supported. Amazing though how many Disco 1s and 2s we saw - particularly on the east coast from Bris down to Sydney - that was a definite hit! My six month old 110 continues to attract an enormous amount of attention here in Perth Western Australia. Amazing how many people come and have a chat when I am filling up and want to take a look inside etc and tell me their Land Rover stories!
I previously had a Toyota Prado. Can't say I had that once. Anyway, I could not be happier. I have wanted a Defender since I was a kid. |

Had a bloke take a selfie in front of my Deefer recently. Can a Disco mix it with a Defender?

Went to my local main street at Maleny in Queensland this morning and there were four 110s within a block, which looked great. Nice to know their value is actually rising since orders for new Defenders closed. I mentoned to my wife that the value of my Defender was rising while her new Mazda 2 was losing value. She gave me one of those 'give me a break' looks. Can a Disco mix it with a Defender?

What model is that?
It sort of looks like a Heritage but the front grill is different (normal spec). |
