Fitted spotlights to an Aircon without an A bar
So I finally got a bit of free time and installed my spotlights.
Home made mounting allowed the fitment of a set of 9" Cibie LED Super Oscars onto my aircon fitted Puma mounted direct to the bumper.
Just some very quick images just now as the light was failing.
Test run tonight has shown they were a good choice, not cheap but prefer the more traditional look to the modern LED light-bar style.
Some quick photos outside house, need to fine tune the alignment.

Place i took the photos doesn't do them justice as the road dips away and the ipad glared off the road but a quick drive has shown there is a huge improvement in the light range as these are the wide beam version with 500m range.
Even SWMBO was impressed.

9" wide beam option without position lights.
1200 lumens and 500m range claimed in this configuration.
Can certainly believe the figures judging by the quick drive i managed this evening.

Hello Flyingfocrs

Nice...how did you do the wiring... Question

Open Bonnet shot appears to show a wiring loom 'in waiting'
Cibie, Generic or an-other...

Extra Driving Lights...my research continues... Shocked SKIP

I got the lights from Germany, however i won't plug or recommend the seller, after 2 weeks contacted them and was told they hadn't sent them out as they were not compatible with my vehicle and they needed my VIN number to source an alternative!
Asked why if this was an issue they hadn't been in touch with me, refused to give my VIN as they are a universal fit product not vehicle specific and told them to supply what I had ordered and not an alternative.
Finally got the lights after 4 weeks.
Wiring loom is from Landreiziger, not the cheapest but comes with the dash mounted switch which is £50-60 on it's own.
Clear instructions, good quality and fits perfectly, same as the headlight loom from them that i fitted previously.

I've used Cibie Super Oscars in halogen form for years on my Mk2 Escort and never had a single issue with them.
Problem now is the ones on the mk2 will look poor now compared to these ones lol

Excuse my ignorance of driving/spot lights but you mentioned a dash switch for these so how are they switched on - independently of headlight main beam or only with/by main beam?

They look fantastic IMO

The dash switch gives you the option of switching them on or off, wiring loom has a relay so they work through the normal main beam stalk on the column when switched on.

Thanks Flyingfocrs

MK2 Escort with Cibie's north of the border...make complete sense... Thumbs Up

I'll look more closely at your set up...

Your right about LR's 'Fog / Spotlight' Switch... Shocked Mad Money

All I have currently is a SS Bar and some SS Brackets 1/2 made...I also have AC and don't want to go down the soft A Bar route to mount extra lights.

Lightforce are currently planed, but I too had some Cibie's fitted to a previous car, that came from my Father 175K Miles with No Issues, No leaks and No Bulb changes... Exclamation

Will buy the LF Wiring Loom Kit if opting for these lights SKIP

The complete loom from landreizeger complete with the switch is about £70 so it's a good deal really when you think how much the switch is alone.
An option for you might be the clamp type mount that will secure around your stainless bar and the lights mount to it.
The only issue is how deep are the lights.
Took a few measurements before making these brackets.
Might now though try a mk2 version of them later on. Refine them a little bit.
