Yes you're not the first one to think that JLR had forgotten to fit the mounting. A bit worrying when you first spot it.

No fixing there is more normal than the oil leak.

The liquid is water not oil but corrosion yes. Am going to have professionally cavity wax and undersealed later this month

Only kidding There has been talk in the past that very early Puma's had a mount there but I've not seen it mysef and I did have a fairly early one from new back in 2007. Steve.
