Gearbox Oil

Anyone replaced theirs yet?

If so did you use the Texaco stuff noted in the handbook or something different + at what mileage.

Mines done 26k now so I'm considering changing it at 30k when I do my intermediate 6k engine oil change.

Hi,

Replaced mine at 6k but only because we use her off road alot and do go through deep water sometimes. Even though we have extended breathers for the gearbox and diffs fitted etc we replaced it just in case of water ingress and with the Texaco stuff which is expencive and probably not worth it

One word of caution, when filling up the box there seems to be 2 filling points with one being somewhat hidden and the other easily reachable - dont use that one as it will over fill the box by about 1ltr

Use the one that it difficult to get to as it will fill up to 2.2ltrs only
