OK for mot,big debate as to whether shoving low volts thru the bulb is good for longevity,I disconnected my dim dip after it mysteriously started working??On a td5 you can find the connector under the f/o/s wing, about level with the brake master cylinder. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

with the relay harness they are not dimmed any more so on full - dipped beam with the sidelights. as the relay sees the low volts and switches them on.
so no issue with the bulbs. |

Mine does the same, I'd like to know how to get the dim-dip back too, I've fitted the upgraded harness but I noticed the main beam only works on the second click, otherwise you have to use flash (if that makes sense?)
I thought it was done by linking the pink plug with a wire? |

it sounds like there may be a mix up on the feeds to the relays.Check the original connector is fitted properly to the new harness. Mine didnt work at all until i unplugged it and put it back in again.

Disconnecting the dim dip resistor will solve all problems, the main beam forwards will only work on the second click because you wouldn't drive at night on dim dip. The resistor is there if you have dim dip, just pull the connector off and it'll disable it. Under the drivers side wing by the black vent on the wind top 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

thanks for the advice (belatedly) it worked a treat. I was lookin for a big resistor but it turns out it is just a connector that lloks as if it just connects to the inside of the wing.
Anyway cheers for the help chaps CC |

RE: MOT, I've got the wiring harness/relays mod on mine with Dim Dip, and it passed its MOT fine last month. I'll be taking the resistor out soon.

Yesterday I got rid of my dim dip on my (300tdi) as my dipped stop working and it was the dreaded pink box. I pulled it out and made a short piece of cable and two spades as a jumper which go into poles 2 and 8 job done. On the 300tdi it's behind the gauges.
