it may be exactly that, i'm sure that for them to be able to reclaim tax, and dealer bonuses it has to be in their ownership for a certain period, i know my local Ford garage works on a 6 month cycle for the "company" cars.

Usually 3 months is the minimum or sometimes a mileage max of 4500 is considered normal before releasing a vehicle...

Regardless, they should have clearly explained the timescale to you. Have you actually paid a deposit? or is it just a verbal agreement to purchase?

I'm in exactly the same position. The car I've paid a deposit for was registered in July and was told I should get it in October. Now they're saying it may be later or maybe not; all is uncertain. I appreciate the demo car, 3 month thing, but if the vehicle line is discontinued completely, then surely for the sake of customer service Land Rover should allow a speedier time schedule?

Hi
The dealership keep moving the goal posts and continually blame blame LR, they rarely bother to call you back or reply to emails. I paid a deposit of £1000 over a month ago, hopefully they will get their act together soon. FD LR MY16 Discovery Sport Black HSE LR MY15 Defender 90 SW TDCI |

Hi
No still no luck, seems that they have you by the short hairs and they know you do not have any options, great way to treat loyal LR customers. FD LR MY16 Discovery Sport Black HSE LR MY15 Defender 90 SW TDCI |

I used to buy the demo models. They would keep them abit 3-4 months. I've had one out of the showroom before with only 30 miles on.
I doubt they will get any further demo defenders so could keep till December. |

Sorry to hear. I just don't understand why they're doing this. My dealer cannot get any new Defenders; it's impossible. So why are they being forced to keep a demo car which is not able to be a demo car as there are no new cars to be had? At all. It's extremely frustrating. Alas my first ever experience with Land Rover is so far one of frustration. |

It will most likely be a range of things, not just LR rules (which there are many) Tax, needs etc...customers buying new, with faults or issues will get that car when it goes back in...we have certainly seen that. Mike
