Wow, thank you kindly Darcy, I am flattered you think so... Bow down

I also had an extra, middle section, courtesy light fitted as it always seems a bit of a dark spot on a 110... Mr. Green

On arrival...

Don't mess about with the ACF-50 to seal the foam strip invisibly (rear tub also), spray loads on and sorts spindles etc from rusting as well.

Stop rivet insides from corroding. Do the outsides as well obviously even though it,s Ally helps prevent the bubbling and staining you see on older models.

Bare metal in between hinge and bulkhead so run a line of ACF-50 along here regularly.

OK putting SS fasteners into hinges but the hinge itself rusts so cover that as well. Usually spray the whole thing then wipe off.

Bare metal also under rear tub cappings.

Undo screws and treat clips as they are rusty from new.

The new Dinitrol 447 stone chip goes on really thick, it has zinc bits in it also, nice to use...

Underbody wax goes on neatly if careful.

Worth spending time on the engine bay, bonnet etc treating brackets, hinges, bolt heads, anything metal In fact as it will rust!

Zag. Great photos & "clues" there, thank you.
Haven't seen ACF 50 in Aus. I note your comment about "sealing the front sponge seam under the windscreen etc, ....would WD40 do the same thing? You just spray it "into" the foam?....Likewise with the hinges, cappings etc?
Thanks, Pickles.

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

Martin, I would not use WD40 for any of the jobs Chris has mentioned, it is only really any use for easing nuts 'n bolts... Whistle

ACF50 is ideal because it gets into all your crooked nannies and stays put, without attracting the dust and detritus WD40 would... Thumbs Up

A Few More Self Inflicted Mods & Adds... :)
I sure am Lofty, truly, madly deeply... Thumbs Up

And, as someone predicted a wee while back, the mods don't stop just because Urban Truck have done their bit... Whistle

Just a few little odds and sods added in the last week (I have only had possession for exactly one week already... Shocked )...

The first two are not all they seem, you have to look closely and not be drawn by the obvious to see the less obvious... Cool

And these were fitted both for practical reasons and also to eliminate a naughty and persistently annoying whistle that we (UT) narrowed down to the actual window seal on the passenger side, which magically disappeared immediately the Climair's were fitted... Thumbs Up And I think they suit the overall look too... Wink

And this one is the result of taking advice pointed out by another keen eyed contributor to this Special build thread, thank you... Bow down

While this last is an out and out plug for Simon Dearn and the awesome team at Urban Truck who have delivered an absolutely stunning, unique and beautiful Defender as my Keeper, THANK YOU GUYS... Bow down

Oh, and also because it had it's inaugural valet today, complete with special wheel protection wax and a first coat of body wax to begin getting it ready for going through whatever the Great British Winter chucks at us... Mr. Green
