Two very specific turning related rattles/buzzes/clunks
Hi,

I've searched but haven't found any thing that addresses if my 2015 110's noises are normal or a sign of a problem.

Here is what happens:

1) When turning left from a stop, it gives a rattle/buzz/clunking as I let out the clutch mid turn. Sound comes from behind (the drivers seat). Doesn't do this letting the clutch in a straightaway, or turns a similar speed while fully in gear.

2) Going up hill at speed (80kms) during a gentle turn with the road. Loud buzz sound has come from the left front wheel area when gently turning right, and from the rear, perhaps dif, in a "s" shaped turn (both happen on paved mountain roads).

Did not have the same noises with my td5 90.

Otherwise very happy with the 110. Any ideas about the sounds or if I should just ignore?

Thanks

I've heard a similar noise, I reckon it's the traction control.

Hi Gaijin. You'll probably, as the length of ownership continues, find there's many other clanking and rattling noises for you to try to guess where they come from.
After having 2 previous Defenders, Td5 and 300Tdi, I have to say I think this is definitely the worst apart from engine power.
It has the worst noisiest engine (I've never heard a Transit engine rattle like these things) I've ever had and the absolute worst for drive line slop.
Plus the vehicle has suffered from Ford cost cutting in many other areas which Tata have not bothered fixing and as others have said, LR will probably be glad to see the end of it.
And so will I quite frankly.
Good luck to those who are willing to put up with something which has been so badly put together by a workforce which couldn't give a Censored , which has parts (think axles and output shaft) so soft they aren't fit for purpose, has an engine which from new sounds like it's ready for the grave yard and with so many crap bits (think cubby box and seats) that no (apart from Mahindra and Jeep) other company would dare to offer it for sale.
Pity the Cook loves the damn thing or it would have gone not long after I bought it.
AlanH.
