United Kingdom 2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Stornoway Grey
[For Sale] Stornaway Puma 90 HT, with many extras
Having dithered and debated, then dithered some more, she is now "actually" for sale Laughing

So this is the specifics,

Puma 90 HT , 2011 41800 miles.
Fresh MoT in September.
Just had a £350 , full fluids and filter service, engine oil/filter, fuel filter, diffs, transfer box, gearbox, brake fluid, clutch fluid.

It has factory alarm, remote central locking, electric windows, which apparently is referred to as the convenience pack?
Full headlining, radio CD player , alpine windows and windows either side of the rear door, which I have seen some models without these fitted.

I am now selling my 90 HT, 2011 , Armstrong Massey supplied 1 year ago, 41800 miles on her, (I bought her with 38,500 on approx.)
The vehicle has been used , pretty much only for dog walking and shooting, and as I cycle to work, it gets used very little, only around 200 miles a month.
I spent , as I always do on my vehicles, and many others do also, a large amount of time and money making it mine, and personalising to suit my preferences/requirements.
I don't know, nor want to think about how many hours I have spent, sweating , swearing, freezing etc, whilst fitting parts , or cleaning and protecting things.
The paint is immaculate, the chassis superb, waxoyled by landrover, and then again, properly by myself ( not in the door skins or internally, but anything externally, chassis etc and all visible metalwork)
Rear crossmember is excellent, more or less unmarked.
All the parts listed below have been bought within the last year, the majority in the last 6 months, and some in the last few weeks.
My options are/were....
Strip everything off it, and return it back to standard, sell a standard vehicle and sell all the parts individually?
The above is a huge ballache, and has a large negative as it involves spending more time, reversing everything, then selling , and posting whilst losing money on every part sold ( and yes, I know you never get back what you put in)

Or do I ...
Sell it as it is, hoping to find someone who wants a vehicle just like mine, and has similar, tastes/requirements as me,which then saves them the time and money, not only sourcing and buying the parts, but also fitting it all.
Things could be removed, if really not required, then the price modified, but this could get a bit complex and messy, but doable all the same.
Many parts have been colour coded, or modified, as I like to do my own thing so to speak, and every metal to metal contact surface that has been added, has been sepreated by neoprene/foam gaskets, to avoid rubbing or paint damage.
She has also had many coats of polish over the year, and underneath is all black waxoyled.

So I have decided the way forward is to sell as she stands, ( I have a plan B if needs must, but plan A ( this one Laughing is my preferred route)

Price wise, hmmmmm good one Shocked having totted up the parts I have fitted, they come to around £10,000 Big Cry Shocked
On average, on e bay, and Autotrader, a similar age, and quite often higher mileage, standard 90HT ( most without Alpines and rear tub Windows seem to go for around 14-15K plus vat, so even averaged out , say 17k all in, bearing in mind the parts fitted to mine, and condition, the price I am asking is £21995 and not a penny less, so please no attempts at pulling my pants down Whistle I have my belt tight, and my braces short Mr. Green

Based just outside York.

Since I nearly advertised it a couple of months ago, I have spent around another £1600 on her, service, exhaust etc.

A list of additions as follows....

BRAND NEW, A FEW WEEKS AGO, full Alive Tuning! Turbo back, full stainless system, with cat delete, and centre box delete.
Barely any noticeable noise difference inside, but sounds lovely outside, this was £850 fitted.
She is now ripe for a remap, and uprated IC.

Lighting ...
Nolden , smoked chrome, full led headlights, with black powdered s/steel bezels.
Wilderness lighting, dual row, 20" 11,800 lumen light bar mounted inset into the grill.
Clear indicators, side repeaters , with Led Bulbs.
NAS , stop/tail full led, from Mud UK .
Scenelite rear mounted work/reversing light .(Rear Scenelite is switched from either the cabin, for reversing , or at the rear door for working /loading etc, direct from the battery so no need for ignition to be on. )

Rigid H2 Dually spots .( these I will remove as they are set to go on something else)
Led bulbs fitted to the interior lights.
RDX led light adjustable relay.
Parrot Handsfree kit.

Wheels/Tyres...
Twisted performance, 0 offset , 16" wheels x 5 with centre caps, and Twisted black wheel nuts and Locking nuts on all 5 of them.
Goodyear Duratrac 265/75/16" tyres x 5 all have covered no more than 1500 miles.
( the spare was a used tyre, bought solely to hang on the back door for visual match )

Protection...
Rock / Tree sliders, partially. Colour coded to body colour, with rubber seal to body.
Entreq Stainless steel front flap extenders, with modified flaps to give better coverage.
Modified rear flaps, to give extended coverage for wider tyres.
Dirt D fenders front and rear, colour coded to body colour, and modified to fit tree sliders.
Safari Equipment steering guard, with in built 2" receiver , galvanised.
Genuine LR rubber A Bar , unmarked.
Lri seat box corner protectors.
Glyn Lewis rear crossmember arch liner extension covers and front chassis platform ( not sure of the correct term ) protectors to avoid crud and crap getting trapped in nooks and crannies.
First Four Zinc plated/black powder coated HD front bumper ordered, as the new landrover one fitted at purchase is already rusty due to the pathetic excuse for paint they put on them Shocked . ( just fitted in September. )

Other bits...
Nakatanenga stainless single pivot spare wheel carrier, black powder coated.
Safety Devices expedition rack, with rear ladder.
Defendor fuel filler recess cover, colour coded.
Defendor snow cowl, colour coded.
Full Nakatenenga stainless steel bolt kit
Nakatenenga stainless steel door entry trims, all three doors.
Mud stuff rear loadspace side panel trims, in black.
Genuine LR rubber matt set, front and also loadspace.
Brand new / Take off, LR full leather steering wheel.
Inca fully waterproof seat covers.
KBX headlight surrounds in body colour,
KBX grill in satin black.
KBX intake grill , with centre "mesh" in body colour.
LR tow bar, with Dixon Bate drop pin hitch/ball
10mm rubber Spring isolators all round , top and bottom, effectively gives a 20mm lift, whilst also isolating noise, road buzz to a degree.
Mud stuff cargo net in the rear door and also the Mud stuff seat risers in the drivers seat.

Storage....
Mobile storage solutions (MSS) loadspace Tchest, full carpet lined and with gas strut.
MSS loadspace drawer set, both the systems add masses of storage options, all completely secure and lockable, but still leave the loadspace totally useable for moving stuff around or for dogs.
Genuine LR bulkhead dog barrier.
LR leather cubby box, with self sorted extended depth armrest for better armrest comfort.

Wolverine 240v sump pan heater, which connects to wander lead, and plugs into your garage/house wall socket and can be connected to a timer, or one of the fancy App controlled plugs for heating in advance of you getting up to use it.

Not shown in the pics, I have also fitted a Disco 1 handbrake, next to the drivers seat, between it, and the cubby box, so it is now actually useable, as opposed to the feeble excuse it came with from the factory.

There is also no doubt some parts I have forgotten , or overlooked!,

The Registration plate is NOT Included in the sale, it will revert to its 11 plate.
It has one previous owner before me, and was bought through my company so will be plus Vat , it's going to be slightly complex on the pricing as I will have to value the vehicle in standard form as X amount + vat , which I will then pay the vat back on, then the balance will effectively be for the add ons, as I bought them with my money, paid vat on them, but haven't claimed it back.
Either way, there will be a total end result singular price, but it will split in to two figures and invoiced accordingly if that makes sense. ( my accountant said this would be least messy way to do it )

Some more pictures in the below link of mods, in the long running "what did you do " thread .."

I also set about making some stainless brackets out of an old shelf I had which eliminated the LR brackets entirely.
Fastened using the two lower captives already in the A bar feet, then drilled through the bumper , treated the holes, then separated the bumper / A bar contact points with neoprene and bolted through with stainless fittings.

I left the light bar mounted into the grill , and with the A bar on its looks better than with the black KBX one that was fitted before.
It also makes stealing the light bar much harder as it is fitted under the grill and the A bar.

Windowlicker - I think you've done a double post somehow.

But that aside - a very nice 90 - I hate to say it but you'll regret selling. Have you considered removing all the best bits and selling it in a more std trim? There's a lot of kit on there!
Anyway, good luck with the sale.

Hi Lambley,

Thanks for the post Thumbs Up

I have somehow managed a double post Embarassed mods please remove the other , thanks.

I had thought about removing parts, but time when not at work is limited , it was difficult enough justifying to swmbo the time spent fitting them, to then justify the time spent removing it all again, well, I can imagine the response Shocked
It then needs storing safely, and then at some point packaging and posting , it would just be a huge ballache to be fair.
I am taking a huge hit on it anyway, to then spend time again would be a double whammy Big Cry

If I had time and space, I would do, as it would achieve overall greater return.

In fact someone could actually buy it, strip it , sell the standard vehicle, then the parts they didn't want also, and end up in profit, or with free parts they have cherry picked for themselves.

Cozz,

I will bear it in mind, should parts become available individually. Thumbs Up "Procrastination is the thief of time"

Laughing your brain is fried ! Mine nearly popped writing all that last night Shocked

It's part way down from the top , not near the bottom nor in the middle Mr. Green it's £21995
Effectively 15k plus vat , then the balance is just the difference, so 15k is + vat , my accountant instructed me to do it this way as the difference is not something I ever claimed back therefore I don't want to be adding vat to a higher total figure.

Electric Windows, central locking , alarmed, but not heated seats not windscreen, and no air con.

Cheers.

So to clarify.... It's £15,000 +VAT for the car and £5,000 for your 'enhancements' and the car has no ABS/TC or air-con. it is four years old and coming up 50,000m?
My brother is looking to buy a Commercial and have forwarded the spec on to him.
Thanks. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

It could be my maths, and me being thick ( highly likely Embarassed ) but I had 15k plus vat as 18k, leaving £3995 as the difference not £5000.
I see it as just having past 40,000 rather than coming up to 50,000 Thumbs Up
No abs/tc.

Thanks
