Thanks chaps
![]() I've looked at panoramic glass but I'm not convinced it'd look good on this, I think you need a dark colour to pull them off. I considered grills for the side windows, but I don't like the way they attach... I've got a weird ocd thing going on.... So much so that the steps came off not only for a repaint in black but because the rivets sat proud on the plate.... M8 rivnuts and csk bolts later.. I'm still tempted by a 110, it'd be far more practical for us but having looked I really struggle to find one within budget and in similar condition to the 90! |

Lovely truck!
![]() Those Recaro's look lovely. Did you have them trimmed in white leather yourself? |

The recaros were a bit of a result. Before I bought the 90, I knew I had to have a pair. I found these three weeks after the defender arrived.
They were in Scotland and it took three weeks, alot of negotiation, sorting the logistics and me sending packing materials to get these. But, they came with subframes and they were in the right colour ![]() My neighbour has a 90 xs and the first time he got in for a lift down to the pub he admitted he had to get some for his, it's a game changer! |

I thought the same, but the advantage of white is that you can find a commercial spec and upgrade it to your heart's content which is what you seem to be doing anyway. Basically what I did, albeit I was lucky to find one with comfort pack (electric windows, carpet, AC). It started off all white, basic cloth interior, white steels, no CP, no body kit, standard steering wheel, basic grill etc etc. It now looks like a 110 version of yours (bar the black roof) but all upgrades have been done by me, with more to follow... I did look but, the hassle of selling it and the expense made me rethink.
I think it's a great idea personally you just need to be able to see the potential. I may look again next year, but having just spent a lot on the airbox and exhaust I'm just enjoying it really ![]() I, like you have found it difficult to make my mind up about the colour, sometimes I've though about complete white including all the kbx kit ect, but I guess it's too late for me now ![]() |

Mmmm, I'm the opposite, thinking more black or complete colour change. I have a custom Kahn style grill, and am tempted by both the soft A-bar and KBX light surround, plus Bowler bumper and guard to finish off the front. As for the remainder, most of it is more matte black (wheel arches, blindos etc), with dabs of gloss (CP etc) so I think next stage is to gloss the arches and perhaps upgrade the Blindos to 'shiny' Bowlers, plus NAS step etc. I am also a great fan of the rear wing body bars as an extra touch of 'black'. ![]() ![]() Much the same direction as yours, just longer!! ![]() But at least you're enjoying it and the great thing about our Defenders is you never have to stop modding. At least not until the cash dries up!! ![]() I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
