I did a write up for the conversion from standard to Wipac Cyrstals and Osram Nightbreakers here http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic24287.html?highlight=wipac
Coupled with a Red Bison Loom its the best upgrade you can do for your truck without spending a fortune on LED lights. Think my whole conversion cost less than £60 including the loom, lights, bulbs and a packet of biscuits. Defenders are wired for h4 bulbs, and as above, osram night breakers and wipac crystal headlights are a huge improvement over standard, if you want to go further take a look at upgrading the wiring loom, again another big step up, but if you want proper brightness, and aren't worried about spending a few hundred on lights, go led.
The difference between standard and led, is literally like night and day! |

As recommended a lot on here I recently went with the Wipac Crystal lamps, Osram Nightbreaker bulbs and the Red Bison boomslang loom, unbelievable improvement for the money.

Hello
Has anyone a link for the uprated loom and clear lens, Is the loom a big job? sounds like it could be? Think for now it will be Osram nightbreakers unlimited, purely as I have a pair I never fitted to my wifes car and then we sold it... |

Just bear in mind. When swapping headlights that they'll likely need re-alignment especially for the MOT.
So I'd recommend taking if to one and asking for them to be aligned, it'd cost peanuts too. I only found this out come MOT time myself, luckily the tester just adjusted them and passed still FOC. |
