Wiring a worklight switch question
I am planning to fit a scenelight to back of my 110, simple set up wired to a switch on the dash, not linked to reverse or anything. I was going to take a fused positive feed to the switch and then from there to the scenelight, and then run a negative back to earth from the scenelight. I have bought a simple LED rocker switch from VWP:

but it has 3 contacts on the back rather than 2. They are marked +ve, -ve and "A". Can anyone shed any light as to why it has 3 contacts rather than 2?

OK ignore me, having a blonde moment. +ve and "A" are the in and out for the switch, the earth is for the LED in the switch.

+ Positve, - negative and A is the connection to the accessory you are switching. Steve.

I have found the same switch elsewhere with wiring info:

Quote:
Connect +12V to end terminal to illuminate the switch when ON or to the centre terminal for permanent illumination. Gold coloured terminal is for LED earth.

So 12V to end terminal, 12V out to lamp from centre terminal. Earth to gold terminal.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
