United Kingdom 2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
18" Boosts vs Sawtooths!
Hi,

I have bought my first Defender today - so quite excited!!!

I have a 110 XS in Grey - 2008 car, and planning on tweaking it slightly with a few additions.

Looking online I love the Twisted black 18" wheels but are quite pricey, does anyone have experience of the 18" Black Boosts (on BF Goodrich tyres) from LRI Solutions or the 18" Sawtooths from them also?

Am I best to add a 30mm spacer kit to these wheels also - chum has told me they are needed but I'm unsure as all new terriotory!

Any assistance is much appreciated (as would pictures of the wheels on a similiar car).

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian

I have the LRI 18" Sawtooths. Excellent quality product and looks the dogs whatsits! No spacers on my 90.
Rich at LRI generally gives a slightly better deal to forum members, check out his thread in the sponsors section.

Boost 18" on 265 BFG's. I have the best driving experience on mixed road and light offroad with this combination. And they last for ever. My previous set did 100K KM and still had 8.5mm.

Thanks for responses! So I don't need spacers- and still very undecided on which wheels to buy!!! Will call LRI tomorrow and take from there.

On a side note - I would like to carry bikes on the roof occasionally - do you need a full rack or can you get roof bars like a standard car on a 110?

You can fit bars, lots of options - have a search on here as there are Defender-specific bars and Thule products which fit Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I'm edging towards Sawtooths... had the car since Friday and enjoying it- takes a bit of getting used to, has Boosts on at present but fancy 18's, KBX grilles and black chequerplate!

Thanks for pics, I have left a message for Rich at LRI on Friday...

Has to be Sawtooths!
The 18" boosts don't look that different to standard, so why would you??? Rolling Eyes Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Dave-H - that's what I am thinking... I really like the Twisted wheels in 18" but they are almost double the price of 18" sawtooths... Defender 110 XS
