I read it exactly as above and with all the other links and prices available in this thread it shouldn't be too hard to figure out once Brendan has the numbers and posts his price up here where to buy one from at the cheapest price. No real point in asking at this stage. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Group buy dynamics are always interesting and working out prices can at times be difficult.
It has been made slightly more awkward as the main man need to speak to is out of the office enjoying himself! I am reasonably confident in saying that we should be able to beat any advertised UK price. My difficulty at the moment is to clearly state by how much! A Startech steering wheel with a 2015 boss will be a maximum of £375 including VAT. How far we can reduce the price I do not know at this moment in time, however at that price that is a saving of over £50 compared to other suppliers. Please bear with us whilst we try to finalise the prices. The more people who require the Startech steering wheel the better price we can negotiate. Brendan |

Apologies if it has been mentioned but how deep is the boss that goes with the wheel? Great looking wheel with OEM looks.

Hello All
This may help... The resulting clearances achieved between a Startech Wheel and Boss and the Main Surrounding Elements. 60mm to dash binnacle (top dead center / closest part) 62mm to light, horn, indicator stork 65mm to wiper stork 70mm from rear of Startech Wheel (push on center wrap around rubberised element) to Steering Column 37mm Thickness 360mm Diameter Mine is finished in Black Leather with Silver Stitching (appears white initially until compared closely). I absolutely love it, a near perfect shape, and size, no give, no bling bits, cushioned just enough, looks like the wheel Land Rover should have designed and fitted. I have only Driven around 5 Defenders with non-standard Wheels, IMO this is hands down the best (from that all be it small sample group), expensive yes, but look and feel, to my eyes it's the best I've seen. Certainly a reduced size (but not silly) steering wheel, together with an aesthetic improvement over the OEM wheel (IMO) would be in my top 5 mods to the current Defender. The standard OEM Steering wheel especially with the 'false airbag' appearance (intentional or not) just looks wrong IMO, Land Rover should never fit a false looking anything. Anyway the dimensions... Thanks Skip - very useful.
Hopefully Brendan can give an update on price/delivery time scales because it is one mod I think will make a real benefit to use of the Defender. |

Sorry folks but it has been a very busy week. Just got back in from visiting another supplier.
I knew we could beat £375 but question was by how much. Right Startech steering wheel with latest boss for MY15. Price £350 including VAT and carriage to mainland UK For pre MY15 standard 36 or 48 spline boss price will be £315 including carriage and VAT Now should we do a deal with seat rails to totally improve the driving position? Seat rails with a 30/30mm rise and 50mm movement backwards or for those who's thighs are too close to steering wheel 6mm rise front, 30mm rise back with 50mm further backward movements Now we have done a special deal on LED headlights? Fancy a real special deal on headlights and steering wheel? Let me know if you are interested. Brendan |

Hello
So for a pre 2015 Lr I would be looking at £315 delivered? How do I know about splines? Also what's the deal (price) of the seat runners and LEDs please. Thanks |

Have been away for a couple of days. Was rather pleasant as no mobile signal, no internet but good beer and good food. Also a nice little green lane done as well
Steering wheels ordered, have been told plenty in stock If people who want to take part email barbara@4x4overlander.com with real name, billing/delivery address she will send you an invoice with payment details. Now how about a package deal or two? Seat rails? Can offer two versions. The Nakatanenga ones which rises front and back by 30mm and gives 50mm movement further back The other only lifts the front by 6 mm, back by 30mm and gives 50mm movement further back. The second one is particularly useful if someone has rather large thighs Normal price £37, with the steering wheel £32. We will shortly be receiving new stock of clear Noldens without position lights, these are the ones being used by Land Rover in their final editions. Previous Defender 2 price has been £525 including VAT and excluding carriage With Startech steering wheel £495 including VAT and carriage This price is only with the Startech steering and stock is limited. So upgrade both interior and exterior at the same time. Brendan |
