Netherlands 2003 Defender 90 Td5 PU Caledonian Blue
Half shafts
Last Sunday I broke another rear half shaft. It's only my 4th in since 1995 so I don't really have problems with that. But I noticed the 3 rear half shaft broke near the fixed flench (what ever you call them) on the wheel side off the half shaft.

You can buy expensive ones that probably won't break but I don't want to go that way. I know there are 2 kinds off half shafts the version with a fixed flench and a version were you have splines at both the end off the half shaft and a loose flench. Is one off them stronger then the other?

I understood LR changed from the loose flench to the fixed one to minimize play. Roel
