I still don't understand why they weren't all built at the same time.

If you visit the production line you'll see it doesn't matter what they build, there will be a 90 followed by a 110 followed by a 130 and every different body style.
I guess they build them in the order they sold ??? |

My Phoenix 110 is due at the dealer on the 9th October !
Put a deposit down 12th jan but I managed to get a copy of the order between my dealer and LR and it shows Order created date 17/04/15 Sold order date 08/06/15 Last date of order change 27/08/15( when it went into build) Accepted build date 25/09/15 Factory complete date 01/10/15 Planned dealer delivery date 09/10/15 Customer handover date 14/10/15 So I presume they where all given allocation ,but it was up to your dealer when they decided to action it! |

Didn't take long for an Adventure to pop up for sale here in Aus. I wonder how long it will be until the value of a Heritage overtakes the value of an Adventure on the secondary market (I am being biased in assuming this will happen).

Nice . I like the adventure. Noticed it was shod on continental's. Is that the standard tyre down under?

The Australian brochure for the Heritage & Adventure shows Goodyear Wrangler MT/R in all the photo's but doesn't actually specifically mention the tyre brand. The standard Defender brochure for Australia also lists The Continental AT, & Michelin XZL. I was never given a choice so hope my Heritage comes with the Wranglers. Will let you know in 3 weeks or so.

Mate, careful what you wish for!
There is something that Landrover do not tell us all... You CANNOT get the SAME Wrangler MTR's here in Australia! Those tyres are readily available in the UK and Europe... so when you gat a nail or cut sidewall there, off to the dealer and they put exactly the same tyre on. Here... the Wrangler MTR is a totally different tread pattern! If if you have to replace one tyre, you would probably need to replace 2 tyres to have the same on both axles... or have an odd spare wheel! My 110 Came with Sawtooths fitted with the Wrangler MTR's... I got the dealer to swap them who another car that had Continental Cross Contacts! I think the Continentals are a much better tyre anyway for me, quieter and still very good off road! Besides, unless you are going up to muddy Cape York, the MTR (Mud Terrain) tyre is 'out of it's element'! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Which begs the question, why are we limited to only having MTR on our heritage? I would prefer an AT option.

Me too! I asked my dealer if I could pay MORE for the Continentals... he said NO variation is possible on the Heritage!
At least my Heritage is in the UK however... Suggestion How about all OZ Defender owners buy a container load of European MTR tyres and have it shipped out! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

I would have preferred a set of Dunlop Roadtrack Major's. My 107" has done 32,000+ miles and never a puncture - I guess that just blew it.

The Heritage brochure was sent as a PDF from the dealer & the Australian brochure I have is from 2011 when I nearly purchased one of the 2012 Defender 90's on the $39,990 drive away special deal - but SWMBO didn't like the only black one they had left.
