Take fords claims on the fuel economy for the 3cyl Ecoboost there is countless owners out there who's cars get no where near the claimed MPG. In my eyes it is all down the test they do and the manufactures knowing just how to make it's own cars look and perform just for it..

Tell me about it. I had an SMax 200bhp Ecoboost for 3 months. All boost and no Eco. Went like stink but you had to drive like a granny to get 25mpg. Was more like 18mpg driving to keep up with normal traffic flow on my 25 mile commute. Even on a very steady run on the motorway at 70mph it would do only 25mpg. I never got anywhere near the official figure of 34mpg. I had a 1.0 Ecoboost Fiesta as a loan car for a day and that was not much better
