You can get (eg from Amazon) battery-powered ultrasonic rodent repellers, which seem to work quite well.

We use them in and around the tin tent when it's not occupied (after an unwelcome intrusion by Johnny Rat a year or so ago) and so far they have been 100% effective.

Wiring looms are othe biggest concern.
Rats are much worse though!
As suggested try and ultrasonic thing, providing it's not near you too or they get on our nerves too.
Some people can here it as well in close proximity.

Very Happy Yes I got it from Amazon! And it doesn't flatten your battery! My concern was the wiring.

Generally (unless you're from a far distant planet and have a superhuman aural bandwidth) if you can hear them they're malfunctioning.

My kids can hear the ones I have in the garden. The older generation such as myself hear diddly squitt! I believe certain villages have had them fitted in certain locations to prevent youths congregating and being unsociable in key areas too.

**Edit** You can actually buy the anti loitering devices on the net. Handy if you find youths chewing your tyres or leaving teeth marks in your soft A Bar perhaps too.

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Haven't worked out which I am based on your description (certainly can't remember where I parked my UFO) but I can hear both the rodent and car ultrasonics when they are active. Just a very low electronic whine, nothing that makes me want to run away and find a block of cheese, or start grooming myself with my tongue, but irritating if I stand near them for too long. Wink
