The sawtooths totally transform it... Love the colour choice. Any other plans?

Update since last post; grey waterproof seat covers - matches the Scotia nicely and lightens the otherwise very black interior. Brodit phone mount so I can follow Waze without searching around in the cubby. Also adjusted the steering lock finally. Much better as the factory settings were way off. No photos of that lot obviously.

More interestingly, this weekend I fitted a set of Noldens with light guards. Hopefully to enable me to avoid the wildlife who seem to enjoy wondering about on roads near us. Will get some pics up later - if it stops raining...

Oh and Alby came to collect his nearly new Boosts. Nice to meet you chap!

Nipalong - Yeah it looked great when first collected, 1 week and a family holiday later it looked like a well used hack so I've had to get used to that new normal. Hope you're still enjoying yours!

Mcma1 - Well happy with Scotia, was originally looking at Corris ones, but glad I got this. Mods wise, got a few other things up my sleeve, but finding time is proving tricky with work and young family responsibilities. Luckily I've convinced the wife most of them are safety related! Hehe.

Sorry for poor phone pics, will hopefully get some better ones soon.
Still, another job ticked off the list.

Nice to meet you too. I got the boosts home safely in the 90 and in the comedy trailer.

Haven't fitted the boosts yet to mine as still waiting on delivery of the alloy wheel nuts I bought.

Will post the promised photos when I do though.

Well after a few higher cost mods, it's back to basics for this one: L90Andy's patented homemade snow cover! 99% effective, 99% cheaper and 99% less ugly than the conventional type.* Ingredients: 1x LHD wing blank, 7x 18mmx10mm plastic spacers, 7x longer stainless screws. I’ve done this on my previous Defenders and seems to stop the majority of rain and snow without affecting heater performance. Sorted. *Stats entirely made up.

We're off to the Lakes next week for a holiday. Anyone know of some nice lanes, suitable for a gentle bimble along please let me know. Keen to get off road with the family, thinking nice lanes, family picnic at the top kinda thing rather than mud and sweat fast show offroaders!
Will be based near Windermere.
Other option is Kankku..
Thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Andy,

Your USW is looking great, I especially like the wheels!

We have been considering going for the very same wheels and tyres, how have you found the wider tyres and have you had any issues with them catching on full lock etc?

Cheers,
Leon

Hello

Looks good

2 questions (as new Defender owner)

1) what's a VW99 relay... is that to make it more environmentally friendly Smile
2) What does the raised air bit actually do?

Thanks

Hi Leon,
Congrats on new Defender ownership, hope you're finding it as rewarding as me?
Very pleased with the wheels and tyres. The sawtooths have less inset than boosts so sit further outboard, this helps offset the wider tyres. Now I've adjusted the lock stops it has a much better turning circle than standard. Only downsides are slightly less mpg due to wider contact patch/larger frontal area (that's anecdotal as its so low anyway!) and also a bit more dirt up the sides. Worth it though. Get them bought!
