Changed the oil and filter at 6000 miles. Don't like 12000 mile intervals.

When I was at Peterborough I spotted a pair of crystal Wipac headlamps along with pilot lights, I've been looking for a pair for some time but never wanted to pay too much(lifetime in farming). These were sat on an autojumble stand, offered £20 and walked away with them. I was more than happy when looking at the Bolt on Bits stand and saw them for a bit more but they didn't look the same as mine but as I looked up higher I saw the ones like mine at £60 a pair. I've got lucky and got a pair of SVX ones!
I have leds in the normal sidelights and just got a pair of led 501's. Now I will have no worries about dull lights so there's no excuse for people to not see me when running on sidelights. Off: Click image to enlarge On Click image to enlarge Crappy photos but they really make a difference |

Managed to do a few jobs that have been on the list for a while.
1. Got some Dinitrol on the chassis (Front outrigger/spring mount and down to the rear spring mounts Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 2. At the same time as doing the above it was a good time to fit the Glynn Lewis front outrigger shields Passenger side Click image to enlarge Drivers side Click image to enlarge 3. Fix the difflock warning light(replaced switch) & adjust the mechanism(needed to adjust the pivot (circled) Click image to enlarge 4 .Paint the shackles same colour as the front bumper & fit the front swivel eyes back on Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Went down to the woods in the defender today ....
....and spent the day dressed head to toe in orange Hi-vis watching people drive some lovely cars around at improbable speeds.... Not my video (I was marshalling) but you get the general gist of what I saw.... (if you appreciate the whine of straight cut box, crackling of anti-lag, the chirrup of a waste gate and the roar of an engine and the smell of burnt petrol then I recommend kranking the volume) Who needs (mind-numbingly boring) F1 when for a tenner or so you can go see this????? |

Started fitting my entreq air intake (not snorkel) together with a reinforced silicone hose ..
When I started to take the oem air pipes off I was shocked how restrictive they are, add a RAI and the engine has even more work to do .. Photos to follow http://www.entreq.de/airflow-kit-ii-defend...-tdci.html |

Would love to see how that looks under the hood.
That Entreq Airflow Kit II is on my to get list for my next visit to Olaf. Now that I have the Entreq intercooler pipes and intercooler already, this Airflow Kit II is going to be the last piece of the puzzle to optimal air inbound flow. Now, I actually like Entreq's snorkel too,.... Although,... it might make it more difficult to go to the carwash. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

You'll be one of the first to see it next week
I agree, the entreq rai looks great especially as it's a no drill / non-damaging fit |
