Front lower door seals
I have a pair of the L shaped door seals such as these > http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFEN...2083673305

How far from the door panel does the seal sit? or does the seal sit up against the door panel? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I just installed them too. I have 1984 doors in my td5. The parts with the holes is flush with the steel part off the doors. So the part without the holes comes from about the middle off the door to the inner side off the door and seal against the floor structure.
I am not sure if the is clear.

But It did it different. I made them on the floor-structure and sealing against the door. I am not sure if this is better or not. Mr. Green

Early models, the seal was on the body. Later models the seal was on the doors. I don't know where the changeover was. Somewhere between 1984 and 2003. Whistle Roel

I googled and found some pics.

The td5 style seals:

I connected my seals to the piece off metal shown on the btm off this picture:

I'll check tomorrow where the poprivits are in my old td5 door are located. Roel

Some pics:

I measured were the pop-rivuts were on the original td5 door:

The btm off the door is 3cm between the doorskin and the innerside and the poprivuts are about in the middle.

I put the seal here:

But that is not 100% nice.

It just extends below the door.
I installed them there as I hope it will protect the door more from mud that comes up through the gap between the floor and the sidebar.

Just installed them this week and not been off-road yet so still have to see if it works. Roel
