Final tweaks to the ICE today.

Rear trimming also complete, I'll try and get some photos tommorow (but forecast is for munchose rainios!).
In the meantime a couple of the modified drivers seat box cover with fan and exaust vent. It's wired to the accessory live so only comes on as required. I also ensured that it was a silent fan and is complete inaudible fitted but creates plenty of airflow for the amp.

In this one you can just see the 5ch Alpine amplifier installed in the seat box. It's mounted on 20mm foam rubber mount to ensure no nasty vibrations.

A few more pictures as promised:

Picture taken from behind front seats showing front panel binding. I know it cant be seen but it annoyed me that its not carpeted! Cool YOu can also just make out the floor rear edge binding. That funny "middle" bit with all the floor bolts has also been covered with carpet and bound.

Rear folding seats now re-trimmed to closely match the fronts. To save cost only the XS fabric part was replaced and at £120 a seat I reckon was good value.

Mid section passenger speaker pods. After A LOT of playing with various locations these really help to fill the sound in the 90 (IMHO!)

Custom sub box. Still not entirely happy with the design/look but for now I'm happy. I've already changed the four front screws to black since this pic as the bright metal colour was annoying me! I also dont like the metal grille but it needs to be Cocker Spaniel Proof! It can simply be lifted away if rear space is needed.
I have an idea for something a little less obtrusive that will integrate better with the cubby but I dont have time at the moment.

Great looking truck, difficult fitting in jobs around other things isn't it! My 90 has been my daily driver for years, and everything I've done has been done around work and other commitments. Mark S

Awesome truck barney.....no one can deny that. Does it still drive like a pig though and clunk like a clunky thing whilst changing gear? If not....what's the magic solution? Great photo shop skills too.

Thanks Thumbs Up

Ooooh I hate those types of question! But I'll try and answer.........

It has a BAS remap (150bph Smooth Tune). It does exactly what it says on the tin. More powerful and much smoother. 1st and 2nd gears are a world apart from standard. No kangaroo's! Power delivery is smoother across all gears. Much less transmission clunk (but that could partly be the level of sound deadening in Derek!!).

BUT, is it a 'modern' car equivalent? Hell no! My wife has a RAV4 Auto. Its smooth, quiet, refined, super comfortable, ultra reliable.

Oh I left a word out in the above list 'BORING' Mr. Green Derek is alot of things, but not boring!

As an aside I have never had a car that turns so many heads. I am constantly stopped and asked about it.

In fact I pulled a very lovely 60+ lady (Most definitely 'landed gentry') in the petrol station last week. She was all over Derek and wanted me to give her Landy some love (as she pointed to her bog standard 90 at the pumps).

Get me I'm a babe magnet !!!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

P.S. I've been married for nearly 25 years. The last thing I pulled was a lower back muscle!

She is looking great and I imagine the sound system you've installed sounds excellent. It isn't a challenge to see the amount of care, attention and detail that you've put into your 90 Thumbs Up

The lady who kennels my dog has an older 90 and when I pulled up in mine she wanted to 'talk Defender'. She zoned in on the bumpers an sills and was asking who Bowler were. Defenders do engender a lot of positive discussion with strangers.

...not pulled a 60+ year old yet but there is still time Mr. Green
