My 130 and Demountable Camper
Our Puma 130HCPU with Artica Camper on Back in Verdon Gorge in France



29mm rear anti roll bar and Koni HD shocks on rear maintain stability.


With the camper demounted in Chamonix



(Sorry about the shorts & legs ruining the photo)

Takes 20mins to demount.

Just the standard LR High Capacity suspension with 29mm diam antiroll bar and Koni Heavy Duty shocks (Extreme 4x4). In the future I will change rear springs to give 2" more height so the camper floor is level on flat ground, but this isn't urgent as you just park up with back end up on a hump in the ground, ground is never flat where we like to camp.

rft, take a look at the "who has lifted a puma" thread and see the set up I have. Ignoring the lift, you might like the double spring setup on the rear

Mike,

Your double springs look like the perfect solution, the 130 is my work vehicle and runs lightly loaded most of the time. The camper does not bring it near the weight limit but the back end load is high and hence slow speed humps make the back end dip a bit so the secondary spring will hold the back end up when needed whilst not breaking my kneck when flying!! down the A roads of Britain unladen.

We got the camper because we wanted to stop growing up.
We can go anywhere anytime and still have a decent bed and warmth unfortunatly our grown up bodies (aka knackered backs) need these luxuries now. We used to camp in all weathers & seasons in a little tent but daughter & aching bodies dont suit camping in sub zero or wind & rain.

Pretty nice solution to move around RFT

Just for curiosity and to take some ideas: Do you have some pictures from inside the camper?

I was thinking in something similar for the future but now, with 4 childrens we have a folding camper (under upgrading now).

The Artica web site does not show our interior, but does have external shots of our camper. We have a similar internal lay out to the 240 models on the web site but fabric colours are more subtle, not so bright possibly 'cos we are British! 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Interiors looks awesome.
I like of it for my retirement (almost in 20 years more), so will be a loooong term project

Im just changing all the folding camper's mats and cushions and it good to see different ideas of fabrics, colours, etc.

Your 130 should have double rear springs mine does
