Take a quick look at the red plug etc and perhaps give the MAF sensor a squirt of electrical contact cleaner.

It was a thought. Sometimes mine is a little hesitant from a start, cold or warm, and it's my daily driver. I put it down to a sensor somewhere still slumbering away. If I am in the frame of mind a stop and restart and all is fine, other times it will just pick up after a couple of hundred yards with a fair amount of throttle then it feels like everything "comes on line"

Sounds like a failing MAF sensor.

Just as a bit of fault diagnosis, have a look at the fuel pump relay under the drivers seat.
I had an intermittent fault with the relay causing the fuel pump to stop, identified as the relay as it was hot after starting and had evidence of arching on the terminals. Relay replaced, fault sorted. Worth a look. Sandy |

Mt immediate thoughts are as above, oil in the loom or MAF sensor, if you've checked the loom and its clear, check the MAF sensor, 60 second job. Michael was just telling me a story about a friend of his who slept with a land rover, lonely nights in the desert..

Is it hesitating under light load as in gentle starting off cruising or heavy load like when accelerating up an incline??

Just disconnect your MAF sensor and drive a bit with it and see if it is any better. Roel

Have you tried the turbo wastegate actuator? It might be sticking, spray it with 3 in 1 oil or PTFE fortified light oil and try to free it if it's stuck.
Then check the MAP sensor on the inlet manifold too. |

As Lambley I too was also thinking of the waste gate sticking. About every 6 months mine sticks and shows up as hesitation when accelerating.
