They are not produced by JLR themselves, but they will have their manufacturer/supplier for these. Of course more will be produced than those needed for the Adventure vehicle production run. I don't think you would be very happy if you bought an Adventure, then your spare wheel gets stolen, and JLR dealer would say... sorry.
Not sure though if JLR easily will allow these original wheels sold to non Adventure drivers, probably the price for these original wheels will be set prohibitively high, and even a chance that the dealer will need to produce a Adventure VIN nbr in order to be able to order those from JLR. Aftermarket producers/copiers will pop up soon, that's for sure. Now, myself I'm after one of the items specific to the Heritage edition. Patiently waiting til delivery comes on stream here, and then I will see if my dealer find a part number to order that. Will look nice on the SVX Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Dan has no information at the moment.
Have spoken to my localish wheel referbisher who would charge £78.60 per 16in rim to produce that finish on a standard Sawtooth. That includes fully striping and repainting the wheel. Would hope that could be reduced if providing a brand new set of rims as not needing refurbishment as such. Sounds like a good option as I'm sure the original ones will have a huge mark up if they are ever made generally available. |
