Sonax Leather Lotion/Foam... ?
Having used extensively the D2 search function, wishing to avoid the wrath of @K9X... Whistle

What do fellow D2 members use to maintain their interior leather in tip top condition... Question

I have already been recommended the Sonax range of Leather Care products and they do seem to receive excellent reviews:

Sonax Leather Lotion

I would really appreciate real world experience of Sonax, or alternative products, especially when used on coloured or mixed colour leathers to keep them clean and maintain the showroom look, feel and smell of their hideware... Thumbs Up

Thank you so much, in advance for your input... Bow down

As suggested in LRO magazine. Smells good too and hasn't hurt my XS or (ahem) Prious.

WD40 on leather? Shocked

Couldn't agree more Eric, I don't use WD40 anywhere near my truck, let alone the interior, especially since I discovered the superior ACF50 (not for the interior though!)... Shocked

What do you use on your trusty steed's interior leather then Eric?

I've always used the Autoglym leather products, they work well IMHO:

This one to clean:

http://www.autoglym.com/products/products/leather-cleaner

This one to feed/condition:

http://www.autoglym.com/products/products/leather-care-balm

I could actually point you to the trade equivelents of the above but minimum order quantities could keep you in clean leather for longer than a life time membership of your local S&M club Mr. Green

There is a lot of hype and snake oil arround valeting products. In reality vast amounts of the product price is spent on marketing!

Never used any of the above so I shouldn't comment.

I've used Autoglym Leather Cleaner for 25yrs on another classic, and more latterly on the Defender.

It's relatively inexpensive, readily available (high street), very easy to use (not hard work), and it makes the leather feel and look almost new (definitely softer and less dry). A 'nice' smell as well - but I'm in dangerous territory now!

Most people comment on the interior of my classic, so it must be having an impact.

I'm glad you said that Tiger!

The Defender trim never comes up anywhere near as good as my other cars and it has made me think. It doesn't absorb in the same way either. Maybe Autoglym Vinyl Care!

Well it may have orginally been part of a cow at some point but its thin faced stuff isnt it.

Very low quality

I would have thought WD40 is about right

Once per year sparsely a branded high quality leather feeding pasta my wife uses for her handbags, Delvaux Luminescent Cream. https://www.delvaux.com/en/contact#how-to-care
And it works a treat. Thumbs Up
Thereafter, the seat covers go on again on all 7 until the next time. Whistle
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Why not ask Matt 'Go Beyond' at FCX I would have thought the 'oracle of the leather trimming world' would be able to set you right with a decent recommendation? Probably sell and ship you some of his 'special FCX branded cream' no doubt.

^^^^^

Funnily enough we did start supplying FCX branded leather cleaner but it was a very slow seller so once all the branded bottles had sold I didn't bother restocking.

We use 'trade' products and buy in bulk but I've seen well known 'home' products used and they seem fine
