That looks fantastic - inside and out! Like you, I'm not totally convinced about the KBX look - especially the grill. An alternative look that I really like is this combo from @projectblue...
![]() Click image to enlarge Your double DIN dash looks great - I haven't seen one with that configuration of switches on the side panel before. Did it come from twisted? |

It's a really very nice truck, and I'm a lot less 'anti' nowadays and growing to like and appreciate the style. Congratulations.
I'd ruin something like that very quickly. Here's a curious question... what do your friends drive and what do they think of your 90? |

I find them very comfortable. They are certainly "firm" though ![]() I think the standard defender seats are horrendous! The seat base is FAR too short and they provide zero side support. Yes they're bouncy/comfy but no support. Yep, supplied with LR heaters so simply plug n play with your existing XS loom (just one plug under the seat). I used my existing rails which saves on the cost. Again a simple bolt off, bolt on job. |

Nice front end ![]() ![]() Yes, its the new Twisted dash set. Come complete with loom to extend the Hazard switch. |

LOL, now there is a story. Most of my friends think I'm bonkers!! I've had Range Rovers and Disco's previously so they all think that I'm going backwards. A very good friend of mine who owns a RR Sport drove it back from Plymouth for me recently. My wife saw him come down our drive and said (whilst nearly dying of laughter) "All I could see was knees" (referring to his somewhat cramped driving position). I came back a few minutes later and he said "thats the first time I've ever driven a Defender and I hope its my last". Can you imagine what he would have thought before the suspension change and remap ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think it is the one's that FCX is selling (not my car - projectblue is the lucky owner). I'd be interested in the group buy but living in New Zealand the postage of anything that weighs more than a few grams is ridiculous!

Hi thanks for positive comments.
![]() There are plenty of double din units with CD players. The one I've fitted doesn't as its an Apple CarPlay unit. As my entire CD collection (and it's now in excess of 600 physical CD's) is ripped to MP3 and in my iTunes library this suits me very well. I'm still old fashioned too, I have to own the physical disc, I just can't bare the idea of paying for something "digital". I guess I'm probably just attracted to shinny things ![]() Details of the HU here: http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/digital...60/ilx-700 |

So today I continued my audio upgrade. Amplifier now fitted under the drivers seat and all the speakers now run from new cables leaving the existing factory wiring intact in case it ever goes back to standard.
I had purchased a pair of high end Alpine tweeters but wasn't entirely happy with the idea of cutting the dash so decided on a different approach. Firstly pop out the factory fit units: ![]() Click image to enlarge As you can see the tweeter is glued into the grill peice so with a few careful cuts with a blade the two parts can be seperated: ![]() Click image to enlarge So then it was a simple case of bonding the new tweeter to the existing grill: ![]() Click image to enlarge Job done ![]() Difference is sound quality is really impressive. I got them from here. Amazing service from the company who had run out of stock but arranged a next day delivery so I had them for the bank holiday weekend. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180926988503?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT |

Thanks guys.
My rear seats are now finished so I can finally finish everything off. Works going to get in the way of play for a couple of weeks though ![]() So in the mean time here's one of Derek down to his underpants ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge |
