RHD Headlights in Europe - JW Speakers and stick-on filters

We are taking the 110 on holiday to France and Italy for a few weeks in September and I have been looking at the stick-on headlight filters to keep legal.

The Defender has JW Speaker LED (RHD) headlights fitted but I can't seem to find anything about adjusting the beam to suit the European roads and their insistence to drive on the wrong side of the road.

Are the normal stickers suitable to use on these lights given that the diode layout is different to a standard central bulb? If not then what other options exist?

Yes you could change to LHD lights.

My understanding of the legal situation is that you do not have a requirement as a visiting motorist to have your lights dipping the correct way.

However you do have a legal duty not to dazzle oncoming traffic.

LED headlights in general have a very sharp cut off so the fact that your lights dip the wrong way you should not be dazzling oncoming traffic.

If you are really concerned you could adjust your headlights down a touch.

I am not aware of any stick on patches which will work with LED headlights.

We have not experienced any problems driving on the Continent with RHD LED.

Thanks chaps, it sounds like I should be ok with the current ones then

Spoke to a couple of friends today and they didn't bother changing their LEDs for their trip. Likewise other places on the web seem to suggest I should be alright.

If all else fails you can block off the top projector with tape as this is the one that provides the beam kick up. The two 'D' shaped projectors provide the main spread of light

Just back from 2 weeks and 1500 miles in France with RHD Noldens (excelent product IMO) and no issues experienced (from other motorists or Gendarmes).
