Looks fantastic!
I too picked up my very first brand new Defender a few months back, it's a great feeling. Enjoy |

Nice work! Doubly nice work on the discount, every little helps - the money you save will get eaten up by mods in no time
I love a good 110 USW, if my XS hadn't come along that's what I'd have been looking for myself... Enjoy! |

Thanks for the nice comments folks.
Re: the discount, i'm lucky enough to get Privilege discount. Man maths therefore made it cheaper than buying 2nd hand and benefit (although hope not to use it!) from 3yr warranty. No brainer really. Its going to be the do it all hack, so everything from commuting to family holidays to mountain bike trips and of course off roading. Can't wait. |

I couldn't see any difference to the customer, I think they added it in for the factory to cater for the final year specials.

So what's the verdict Andy? Pleased with your shiny new addition to the family?
More importantly, have the mods begun yet?!! |

Verdict is a big thumbs up! Collection went well yesterday, looked amazingly shiny on the forecourt in the sun although sad to think it'll never look so gleaming again. Will get some pics up soon.
2 hr drive home was a good opportunity to get acclimatized. Well impressed with its motorway manners. It seems to get a second wind at 50mph once put into 6th and it pulls up past 70mph really well. Gearshift needs a firm hand, but its slack free and smooth. I wonder for how long... Happy with the ride comfort, I'd read about people swapping to CSW springs as the USW is a bit firm unladen, but had no problems at all. I think LR have fiddled with the rates again. Driving through spray on the motorway convinced me I need to bring rear sound proofing up the agenda. Although the noise should be good for keeping the wee fella asleep in the back. It got a lot of looks, maybe the first '65' plate people had seen or just dazzled by the shine. Had a wave off a grinning chap in a 90 too. Happy days. Mods wise, I had them put a NAS step on the back, and rather tediously I already had a full set of heavy duty rubber mats in stock. Plenty of more interesting mods on the cards which I'll document here, shame work gets in the way of fiddling with it! Looking forward to having a USW meet up soon... |

Mmm, shiny. Really pleased with the Scotia. Takes on a different shade in various lights.
