sounds more like your dealer has ordered the wrong vehicle and are now trying to get you to foot the bill..
I would tell them to get stuffed, go to another dealer and order what you originally wanted.. buying new, there shouldn't be much difference in the price.. I find it hard to believe that LR will be forcing mods onto vehicles, I would argue, as a contract is legally binding so surely they cant just say "its more than we agreed, so pay up or the deal is off.." Its no different to you saying I'm not paying the agreed price, but I still want what the mods we agreed.. My 1986 90 is currently on a full rebuild, with new chassis, Paint etc.. Very much a hybrid, TD5 Chassis, tub & bulkhead with a 200TDI and LT77 GB Painted in Stornoway Grey 2 years off the road, but getting close to completion now |

My concern is that there may not be that many 110's still available for order at this point,
so if I pull the plug then I might not find another one even close to what I'm after. Mine was ordered a week ago, is due to hit the assembly floor in September/October and arrive in Australia in March. Other dealers over here re indicating they can't always get what they want in Defenders these days. Cheers for the advice. |

I strongly doubt that a bullbar (certainly the metal Aussie type) and checker plate would be put on during vehicle assembly in Solihull factory. Sounds like things which will be bolted on either by JLR Australia if they would decide to have a run of limited edition vehicles or so, or otherwise by the dealer in Australia. Side protectors, unless they mean the standard side steps which can be a Solihull installation, the same.
Ask the JLR Australia importer directly maybe? Of course, nice that at this 11th hour you were still able to order a brand new vehicle, so your negociation power may be limited, and others may be all too happy to take your order over. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Go to another dealer and try to place an order. If this works, tell the other dealer to stick it! 2016 D4 HSE

I'm still waiting to hear back from Land Rover, but someone who went to a dealer today enquired about this and was told that while it is possible that someone (Land Rover UK or Land Rover Australia) is forcing some 'Runout Kits' on dealers, there should be no way for the dealer to then force one of them on you if it wasn't part of your original deal, or is not on a vehicle you're looking at.

Could it be that JLR have some excess of "accessories" that they would like to clear ?
When Defender line finally closes down I think they would like to have as little remaining "stock" of various parts, etc. as possible - especially the expensive stuff - bull bars, winches, etc. |

It could be. If so, they might do better to offer strongly discounted options at the time of the contract signing, rather than trying to force them on customers who have already signed a contract. |
