Presumably this will also make the alarm BBS go off when it activates.

Not if you apply a battery feed to the alarm on the main battery or use it to protect the second battery Mike

Sorry this kit isnt for that. This kit stops you killing your batteries by leaving stuff on eg in the bush running a fridge waking up and no juice If you have two batteries you can always jump start from the other to start assuming one has enough juice! Mike |

yeah i know. the point i was making is that for only a few quid more, you can have an easy split charge with a simple button that will flip the batteries over so you can start with the other. no need to mess about with wires etc. |

Unfortunatley doesnt solve the problem though. Plus you would also use this WITH a split charge and there are many scenarios when a split charge just wouldnt apply (some deep cycle batteries cant start the car anyway!) Dont get me wrong - i just thought some people may be interested in the device I may get one, but wasnt on my radar - seemed cheap at £70 Mike |

Personally, myself, I have always run 2 batteries wired to an isolator switch that allows you to run everything off one battery, both batteries or the second battery. Found it more economical to run 2 start batteries rather than a deep cycle as the second battery. You can run an Engel fridge for 3 days on a battery in Aust without flattening it (in an extreme heatwave maybe 2 days)....so with running 2 batteries you are safe for 4 days basically, including stuff like charging camera & laptop batteries. |

an engel fridge should cut out way before it flattens a battery.
