Hi Guys,
These have a bit of a story behind them..... While at university I was tasked with going down to the storage units where the uni kept all the end of year show stuff to collect it. While there I helped an old Frenchman (who claimed to be the only Frenchman in Bournemouth) with clearing his locker out as he could no longer afford the rent as he had fallen on hard times. He was throwing out a load of old tools, so I thought I'd help him out by buying them off him instead of him just throwing them into a skip- he was a very nice guy and seemed very upset about the whole affair. One of the things he offered me was these 2 storage bins which I eventually bought off him. Turns out they were for storing sterile Hip Surgery parts after they had been washed ready for use - hence the big seals and the filters. To my mind I thought this would be great for using on an overland or camping for storing food or stuff which needs to breath a bit while being transported. Anyway, I payed him £25 for the both of them. Now here is the kicker, having bought an nice heavy old vice, pair of stilsons, odds and ends spanners and now these bins I waved the nice old man goodbye and then carried on moving the boards from the uni's storage locker into the back of the van. About a hour later having done this I set off and was let out of the storage facility onto the road by a very cool looking green Lamborghini. Driven by the Frenchman Anyway, I have kept them for nearly 2 years now as they "might" come in useful but having moved them countless times and never once into the Land Rover for there intended function I am now offering them up for sale with a cautionary tale - never trust a Frenchman! As for the lockers, well made aluminum lockers. Nice thick seal around the lid which locks down with a satisfying "clock" on each end along with carry handles. One has an inner tray which I thought would work well as a cutlery draining thing for camp washing. One has a slightly dented top but I haven't tried to fix this as it doesn't affect it in any way. They stack onto each other quite well. The filters are removable and I imagine something like a coffee filter paper would work as well as I have no idea where to get replacements from. Cost me £25 and some pride so I'm happy for them to go for just £25 for the pair, Collection only though I could probably send them as a pair for £20 by APC Couriers.
