Slovenia 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Sumatra Black
New Defender 90 2,2 Comercial Upgrade
Hello,

We bought a new Defender 90 2,2 and we would like to upgrade it:
- cca 180hp
- automatic gearbox
- a little better suspension

1. option: automatic gearbox Aschroft, tunning remap JE engineering

2. option: all automatic gearbox and remap JE engineering

3. option: automatic gearbox and remap Twister Performance

What are your suggestions for suspension, springs and dampers?

1. Dampers Bilstein, progressive springs

2. Fox dampers and springs

3. Koni dampers and springs

We don`t want to lift the car. Do you think it would be enough to just replace the dampers and anti roll-bars?

Thank you very much for all the suggestions and your time.

If it helps, we are from Slovenia so we can`t just drive to England in case gearbox doesnt work.

Thanks,

I've just had the JE Fox suspension kit fitted to my Lierator and it has transformed the ride quality and handling, firm but not choppy

You will not RELIABALLY get 180bhp from the auto box, the box will not handle it long term. Ashcroft will advise you of power and tuning options.

As Pete says get advice from specialist about what power output you can get from an auto box.

Since you will be 'remote' from a UK gear box supplier it would be wise not to push the output to the extreme.

Next you will need a good garage/mechanic to fit the different items if you are not mechanically minded. Am not sure how many LR specialist are in Slovenia. A bit closer to you but still a 6 hour drive away is Alex at Nakatanenga, Berg bei Neumarkt I have seen the quality of his work and it is good.
