Hi Lads

Just signed up & thought id start off by posting up some pics & progress of my landy....................

Bought as a abandoned project & been sitting in a garage for more than 10 years but when I started
to rebuild it I soon realised why they gave up, they most certainly had very little mechanical skills but enough to take it apart and put it in boxes, First job was to identify what was usable and what was scrap.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Next job bin everything and spank the bank account and buy a truck load of new parts.

Work completed...................

galvanised chassis
recon 300tdi
New exhaust
Front axle has been rebuilt using Timken bearings
New wheel bearings
New swivel seals & half shaft seals + gaskets
Hubs stripped rust proofed & painted
New cv joints
New uprated grooved & drilled discs
New front brake calipers
New pads
New brake pipes
New swivel ball/housing osf (nsf is mint)
New swivel housing bearings
New shocks
New steering damper
New poly bushes all round
New split doors & glass (stainless steel bolt kit)
New locks & strikers
Seat box end panels replaced with galvanised panels
Rear axle stripped new bearings cleaned & painted
New wheel cylinders
New shoes & fitting kit
New wheel bearings
New axle seals & gaskets
New handbrake expander
New brake pipes
New rear crank shaft oil seal
New heavy duty clutch borg & beck
New heavy duty clutch fork
New spigot bearing bush
Fitted power steering
Stainless steel heavy duty steering bars with new ball joints

The roll cage had to be removed from another land rover which was a complete nightmare, never mind
getting it into place onto mine with 2 people.

Sorted all the wiring as the loom had been cut at the front & rear.

In the mids of prepping the panels for paint mostly in primer but more work required to be mint!!

Not bad for a few months work & everything done by myself.

Looking for truck cab canvas & hard top Wink

Cheers Kev

Cheers lads

In between jobs on the landy I managed to pick up a sankey which was totally solid but had been
robbed of the lights & wiring loom.I bought a couple of incomplete looms & lights and made one decent
loom & done a full refurb which involved taking it back to bare bones including removing all the old layers
of paint & rust proofing priming & painted with zinc based paint.

This weeks update was removing the roll cage & cutting & re-welding the front feet to suit the outriggers.
Cutting the front wing to suit the cage mock fitted still more prep before paint.
Turned my shed into a spray booth with a few heaters (too many) as I tripped the power in the house & the misses
got a nice cold shower ha ha
Painted the base coats on the osf front wing not bad too for not painting in a few years but I bought a devil bliss gun Very Happy
