I am sure I used M8 hex heads (rivnuts into the bodywork).

M6 x 20mm into M6 rivnuts. Solid as a rock

Hi,
Didn't bother with rivnuts when I did mine just drilled straight through, sourced longer bolts and used nyloc nuts.
