Hi, I will be selling my TD5 90 in a few weeks 😟 to fund another one 😊, it's a 1998 County SW, 100k on the clock, so might be too old for you.

Well after now cycling to work for the last three weeks with strong headwinds, rain, backside killing me, getting there knackered and getting home shattered I need a car.
Been searching ebay, preloved, gumtree etc I know they're out there just not very near, I could have had an 05 110" commercial for £5500 but it was a 9 hour coach trip away and I hadn't even seen it, can you imagine getting there after 9 hours and it wasn't quite as described god knows how I'd of got home. I guess a positive is I've now had time to think and I'd really like post 2000 if poss, doubt it'll have seats and windows in the back but beggars can't be choosers. I do have £7.5k cash sitting in front of me and I'm not a time waster so will have it on me when I come. So anyone getting rid of their old back up landy Cheers for looking Brian P.S did I mention my butt really really hurts |

Having recently purchased a 2005 110XS my older 2002 110 TD5 County will be up for sale at the end of the month. Mileage is about 170,000ish (can't remember exactly and am not near the vehicle to check), but runs well and starts first time. Polishes up well, but has usual dents and marks. Looks like a PO has fixed bonnet chequer plate on with No More Nails and taken it off (or it's fallen off) as there are marks on the bonnet where the paint is damaged - easily covered with a chequer plate. Stage 1 remap, de egr'd, de catted and centre box removed. Goes well. Was looking for a bit more than £7.5k though

Thanks Jonny? £7.5k cleans me out I'm afraid with little chance of going up, a price I pay for living in the countryside near the coast with very little traffic, no dual carriageways, no motorways, no train stations, very little investment in the area resulting in no work
But after 25 years self employed it's the first time my blood pressures been normal and I wouldn't change a thing |

No problem Brian. I really don't want to sell it tbh, but the other half says we cant have 2 of the same . They do look like bookends on the drive. I tend to disagree with her, but I've never won an argument with her yet, so doubt I'll start now
Good luck with the search Jon |

Brian, while they are hundreds if not thousands of defenders for sale in the UK, check out www.donedeal.ie for defenders in the Republic and Northern Ireland. Your budget of 7,500 pounds is roughly 10,500 euro. You never know. Some lovely defenders on the site and a few nice ones in your budget, although you would spend more I guess flying to Ireland and ferry back. Just a thought.

Well just paid a neighbour to take me to view this:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...op/4616385 The seller wouldn't budge on price as this motor was absolutely perfect, I didn't like the wheels but got told they were really expensive, the adapters alone were £550! Pulled up to the house and it did look really nice, forgetting the bling first thing I did was look underneath, there was oil dripping from back of engine and been like this for a while as built into quite a lump of wet oily dirt. Both swivels leaked and again had been like this a long time, why when you mention this do the sellers say "it's a Land Rover, they all do this" I got round to the N/S front wheel arch and was amazed at how rotten the chassis was! I called the seller over and showed him as I pushed my finger through the rust creating holes going back a bit further towards first outrigger and there was another hole, I commented that it needed a new chassis, his reply again "it just needs patching" I can't believe anyone spends that much money on the bits you can see and don't bother looking underneath and how'd it get an MOT? I felt because of it's age and the mileage it was overpriced from the outset but was convinced by the seller it was something exceptional, another wasted day and more cash shelled out for nothing. Anyone out there got anything better Brian P.S. the seller was gobsmacked when I told him I wasn't buying it |
