Here we have my Sankey 3/4 Ton Trailer fitted with a cut down Defender 110 Hard Top and Eezi Awn Roof Tent with Shower/ Kitchen Skirt.. , a rust free Sankey which cut and made a tail gate in . I then stripped the tub off and had the chassis and tub sandblasted, undercoated and painted with two pack black. I then cut down and fitted a 110 hardtop and made a 10 mm ply rear door flap and front panel and rollered on some ex military green paint. I fitted a 8x4 ft Eezi Awn Roof Tent to the front section of the trailer and hey presto we have a robust practical camping/expedition trailer. It has the benefit of a heavy duty jockey wheel and four grab handles to make moving it about easy as well as a Hi Lift 4ft Jack and spare wheel. The tyres are 205/16 mounted on 8 Spoke wheels which have more offset than standard Land Rover wheels to give the trailer more stability. The rear door flap open right over and makes a small deck by the rear entrance of the roof top tent.
Towing this behind my Defender it tucked in nicely behind with the roof tent hardly protruding above the roof line of the 110 making for better aerodynamics. The trailer can carry four bicyles or a lot of kit and could sleep two with a little modification. It tows very well and the over ride brakes and hand brake work perfectly. The wheel bearings were checked and found to be as new on the initial build and all the brake linkages etc have always been kept oiled. The electrics are civilian standard 7 pin. So if you are looking for a quality trailer with this type of rare conversion that is in excellent condition ready for the summer shows this could be it. You will require a military Nato type hitch to tow it awaw. Seems odd to have the tent opening out over the tow hitch.
