She's not the prettiest one out there, nor the most original, or in the best condition but she's mine at long last after years or dreaming and saving. It's a 1994 300Tdi with 223k miles on it but the engine is a peach (touch wood!). Started life as a rag-top and converted by the previous owner to a half decent standard. It keeps most of the water out so can't be too bad!
Dealer neglected to mention the leaking fuel tank (now known to be from the seam on the tank) which was a big welcome to Defender ownership on the nearest petrol station forecourt! The baking tray is totally unrelated to the defender or any kind of oil leak... Lots of things to do (remove s**t stickers is number one!) but looking forward to getting it back into shape and see what it can do. I'm guessing telling the missus that you need to "check the flux capacitors" and any other made up reason to get time with it is normal for Defender ownership?! It's had the usual rear x-member replaced but all looks to be in pretty good nick with no corrosion (that I've found). Was waxoyled about 4 years ago so needs re-doing but was perfect to see as a buyer that it had been looked after but not done to cover up any problem areas.
Exactly right, just preparing some lovingly hand made treats, just don't tell the boss indoors! |

Now there's a coincidence, look at the number plates....

Even bigger coincidence is that my hard top and rear door are originally the same colour as yours
