Thanks Apt and others.
We requested 13 pin socket on new 110, got a 7 pin and when queried this salesman said it was not a factory fitted option. Lets just say I have had a few words with the sales manager and it will be sorted out! Brendan |

Funny that, I ordered a 13-pin too and got a 7-pin. Same excuse too.
To be fair, the factory fit bar was £305 including 7-pin electrics. The LR price for dealer fit 13-pin electrics is £299 without the tow bar . Depends of what they charged you. On a related note, does anyone have the genuine Land Rover adjustable tow bar (LR007222 for a 110) fitted? If so can you please let me know the approx measurement from the ground to the top of the tow ball when at the lowest setting. Don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire and haven't found one fitted at an LR dealer to measure. |

Thank you so much for taking the time to measure & photograph your tow hitch - information that dealers and LR customer services couldn't provide.
From your measurements, it looks like the adjustable and fixed tow bars are about the same height at their lowest setting. It looks like a drop plate is the only way to get to 420mm Thanks again |

Actually, it's not quite the lowest setting. The towball could be mounted in the lower two holes on the drop plate just visible under the towball in the picture.
I guess this would give you a further 50mm height reduction leaving you around 465 to top of ball. Still not quite 420, though... |

Ive towed a ifor and a indespension car transporter many time on the genuine tow step (with the the proper strengtheners on the back) with no problems.

Defenders are so adaptable that very few are the same. Change your tyres and it can have an effect on the height of the towball.
We can now offered the Nakatanenga goose neck or lowered towball. Two versions available one which can lower the tow ball by 90mm the other by 160mm These are fully road legal as they are E marked. Rated at 3.5 tonnes E marked E13 as per 94/20/EC class A50-X Max D-Value 17.5 kN Max Nose weight 150kg Weight about 4 kg These come with a backing plate, and fixing kit with 10.9 HT bolts. Have already supplied some and have had good feedback Barbara will shortly be adding them to our website. Brendan |
